What to know:

Our gym is dedicated to cultivating a community united by our passion for jiu-jitsu, blending time-tested foundations with modern evolutions to cater to both hobbyists and competitors, adults and children alike. Owners Constantine and Eddie are decades-long friends that trained jiu-jitsu together since the beginning, and bonded together based on their love for the sport.

Eddie Chou

Eddie is a co-founder of Rogue Jiu-Jitsu and a first-degree black belt, awarded his black belt by Thiago Rela in 2019. With 12 years of BJJ experience, Eddie has trained under top instructors from TX, NJ, NY, and Seattle.

A former NCAA fencer from NJ, Eddie was first drawn to jiu-jitsu after watching UFC 1-4 highlights. He began training in 2004 in Dallas, TX, earning his blue belt under Orlando Waugh. After returning to NJ, he trained with Jason Scully and earned his purple belt under Kurt Pellegrino. Following a break from 2009 to 2017 due to work commitments, Eddie resumed training and has been consistent ever since.

As a competitor, he won numerous tournaments from white to brown belt (gi) and intermediate to expert (no-gi), including Masters Worlds at brown belt in 2019. He was then promoted to black belt by Thiago Rela. Later that year, Eddie moved to Seattle, joined the Marcelo Alonso team, and in 2024, co-founded Rogue Jiu-Jitsu with his good friend Constantine Hatzis to bring their love of the sport to the PNW.

Outside of jiu-jitsu, Eddie is a product manager at a tech start-up. He enjoys spending time with his partner and two dogs, cooking, playing video and board games, and immersing himself in fantasy worlds like Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire.

Constantine Hatzis

Constantine is a co-founder of Rogue Jiu-Jitsu and a first-degree black belt. He’s trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu for 19 years in several schools across the US. In 2005, he started training in NJ under Jason Scully. Following his wife to LA in 2006, he trained under Eddie Bravo at 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu and received his blue belt. Another move landed him in Indiana, where Constantine trained with and coached the Purdue jiu-jitsu club. He also trained with Impact Zone Jiu-Jitsu under Carlos Soto and there, he was promoted to purple belt by Thabet Al-Taher. Finally, he moved to Seattle in 2013 and joined Marcelo Alonso BJJ, where he taught adults and kids classes, and earned his brown and black belts.

When not training jiu-jitsu, Constantine enjoys spending time with his family, crossword puzzles, board/card games, camping, and astronomy.
