A little about me
I was born and raised in Massachusetts. Growing up I enjoyed sports playing soccer, baseball and running the 1 mile and 2 mile events in track. I moved to WA state 24 years ago when I was 24.
I currently hold the rank of 1st degree black belt under James Foster out of Kent, WA where I have trained for the last 13 years.
My photography journey began somewhat as an accident. After refining my craft over the last few years my love of jiu-jitsu and photography have joined forces!
What is the website about?
Photography, Community & Culture. We have one of the greatest bjj communities in the pacific northwest. Through my love of bjj and photography this website is a place to not only share my photography of jiu jitsu but also be a resource for the greater pnw bjj community to get to know and connect with others that live the culture.
This sport has grown so fast I often times see many familiar faces at the tournaments but don't know names, gym associations or where they are located. And I've been doing this for 13 years! Thus the idea for this website was born. So I wanted to help bring people together and help everyone get to know the coaches and gyms of the pacific northwest a bit better.
My goal is to showcase the brazilian jiu-jitsu gyms of the pacific northwest by presenting information on the head coaches, affiliations and gyms in our area. A sort of get to know them section.
If you own a gym or know of a gym and want to add them to the website please fill out the form so we can get started and add them to the list. Lets help the pacific northwest bjj community continue to grow into a rock solid place for everyone.
"Jason is an amazing photographer, we invited him to a seminar and promotion at our local BJJ gym and the photos turned out AMAZING! Jason is super easy to work with and has an amazing eye for those great shots and angles. We will definitely be hiring Jason to take his amazing photos again at each of my son’s BJJ competitions! Thank you so much Jason!!"
